LITTLETON, Mass., June 24, 2022 – CyGlass, Inc., the leading cloud-native SaaS-based Network Detection and Response (NDR) platform specifically designed for resource-constrained enterprises, has completed a management buyout from the Nominet UK group, the company announced today. The transition from Nominet to the independent firm, CyGlass, Inc.,  is effective immediately and there will be no disruption in Cyglass’ award-winning Network Detection and Response Service (NDaaS).

“Our customers have been amazingly supportive over the past month as we have worked through the separation process from Nominet,” said Ed Jackowiak, Founder and CEO of CyGlass. “Their proven success with NDaaS and continued support for our company and partners has been enormously encouraging and is greatly appreciated.”

The new CyGlass will operate as an independent entity but retain its engineering, support, sales and management staff. The team is led by Ed Jackowiak, Founder and CEO, VP of Engineering Naveen Rohatgi, VP of Products and Customer Support, Nelson Ronkin, VP of Field Engineering, Wayne Delisser, and VP of Marketing, Bill Munroe. The company has also added a new VP of Worldwide Sales, Matthew Taylor, who will drive the company’s continued market leadership and rapid growth. CyGlass’ strategic focus is on expanding the NDaaS platform to integrate with leading EDR vendors like Sentinel One as well as expanding across a greater number of cloud and edge services like Microsoft Azure.

CyGlass will be 100% employee owned as it moves toward A round of funding. CyGlass was acquired by Nominet in 2020 as part of a now defunct strategy to broaden its offer in cyber security. Such management ownership is a unique business model among cybersecurity vendors. It provides transparency, independence, flexibility and increased incentive for employees to innovate in a highly competitive market.

“As a 100%-channel focused company, CyGlass will continue to operate closely with our channel partners including Bell Integration, Exclusive Networks, Intercity Technology, MaxTec, ViewSec, and our rapidly growing MDR/XDR as a service partners like Stratejm,” said Naveen Rohatgi, CyGlass Vice President of Engineering. “Continuing to build out our world-class AI platform is priority number one as we deliver increasingly capable cloud and network threat detection and response technology. These offerings increase the competitiveness of our partners while delivering critical services to resource constrained teams who cannot afford to deploy legacy SIEM and NDR tools.”

CyGlass closed a record 2021 with 400% year-over-year bookings growth after tripling its customer base and partner network from the previous year. The company was the 2022 Computing Magazine winner in Outstanding Security Automation. Additionally, CyGlass NDaaS achieved the 2021 Cloud Security Product of the Year by Computing Magazine and was  the winner in network security by Computing Magazine’s Security Excellence Awards 2021. Most exciting, CyGlass customers MS Society and Waverley Borough Council  were honored as CSO 50 2021 and 2022 recipients respectively for their CyGlass projects, demonstrating outstanding business value and thought leadership. The company was named best SME security solution and a finalist in the category for best behavior analytics/enterprise threat detection by SC Awards Europe 2021 and 2022 and is a finalist for SC Magazine’s 2022 Best Threat Detection Technology.

According to Nat Smith, Senior Director Security Analyst at Gartner, “It’s a good time to be in the NDR market if you are a vendor since it’s innovating, evolving and growing quickly with the market passing a billion earlier this year. NDR can see things that can only be seen by looking at data and what is normal, and has embraced AI in ways unseen elsewhere. Unlike other areas of cybersecurity, NDR is relatively unchallenged by other markets and not dominated by large vendors so it can thrive and grow on its own. This is a space that is pure and exciting and rare in the security market.”  Legacy NDR products suffer from lengthy deployments, high costs for onsite hardware and software and dedicated administrators, as well as additional costs and the need to purchase separate products for key capabilities like remediation, reporting and cloud protection.
